BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 SP2 to 5.0 SP3
- In the BlackBerry® Administration Service, on the Servers and components menu, expandBlackBerry Solution topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component view > Email.
- Click the instance to change.
- Click Edit instance.
- Select the Messaging tab, and perform the following actions in the Message prepopulation settings section:
- To synchronize both the headers and bodies of messages onto activated BlackBerry smartphones, change the Send headers only drop-down to False.
- To specify the number of past days from which to prepopulate messages, type a number from 0 to 30 in the Prepopulation by message age field.
- To specify the maximum number of messages to prepopulate, type a number from 0 to3000 in the Prepopulation by message count field.
- Click Save all.

- Warning: The following procedure involves modifying the computer registry. This can cause substantial damage to the Windows® operating system. Document and back up the registry entries prior to implementing any changes.
- On the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, click Start > Run and type regedit.
- For a 32-bit Windows Server®, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise ServerFor a 64-bit Windows Server®, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server
- Right-click the Agents registry key, then click New > DWORD Value.
- Type ForceMsgPrepopOnActivation as the new DWORD Value name.
- Double-click ForceMsgPrepopOnActivation.
- In the Value data field, type 1, then click OK.
Note: Steps 7-16 only apply to BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange.- Right-click the Agents registry key, then select New > DWORD Value.
- Type ForceMsgPrepopDays as the new DWORD Value name.
- Double-click ForceMsgPrepopDays.
- In the Value data field, select Decimal and enter a value of 14, then click OK.
- Right-click the Agents registry key, then select New > DWORD Value.
- Type ForceMsgPrepopMessages as the new DWORD Value name.
- Double-click ForceMsgPrepopMessages.
- In the Value data field, select Decimal and enter a value of 750, then click OK.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Restart the BlackBerry Controller Service.
Important: Restarting the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server or its services may delay message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones.
